There are so many books and articles that pretend that they can offer you the one path to creating change in your life. They tend to offer a series of steps that all too often seem to be out of step with who you are. The Enneagram provides a powerful tool for creating a path that grows out of your own uniqueness.
A bit mysterious in its origins, with some saying it came from ancient mystic traditions, in the last thirty years it has been adapted to be a powerful personality indicator capable of giving people great insights into themselves.
Over the next several weeks I'll be doing a series of articles on the Enneagram as a tool for creating greater vitality and wellness in your life. I've been working with clients using the Enneagram for years and believe you will find it a powerful way to learn more about yourself and how you relate to people around you.
The easiest way to determine your enneagram type is to work with someone skilled in its application. However, you may begin by taking a test online to determine what your type is and learn more. There are two free tests that I recommend often.
Check out the Enneagram Institute's quick 36 question test at
http://www.enneagraminstitute.com/dis_sample_36.asp
Or for a more in depth test, check out the free 130 question test at Similar Minds.
http://similarminds.com/advtest.html
Once you've taken the test, read up on the type it suggests and see if it's a fit for you. If you score closely on several types, check out all of them. There is plenty info at the Enneagram Institute to get you started or you can check out Riso and Hudson's Wisdom of the Enneagram.
Feel free to send me questions or comments about your test. If you have questions, please send me a copy of the complete score sheet so I can offer you the best response possible.
